Let’s begin!

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. We do not like spam! An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service(that little picture icon thingy) privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

In addition we use Akismet as the anti-spam service. Akismet collects information about visitors who comment on our Sites. The information collected depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Note: As of June 2018 We are not allowing comments to be used on our website. However the policies for collection of personal data in reference to comments will remain in effect at all times, should we choose to use this feature at a later date.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. For example if you upload a picture you took while visiting Niagara Falls and your location option is activated, when you post it here, that location data could be vulnerable.

We do not use the information submitted for marketing purposes.
